The California Coalition for Youth’s Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) 2018 aims to empower youth, youth advocates, and staff and leadership with strategies to create change and improve the lives of California’s disconnected, runaway and homeless youth.
YES is your chance to come to our state’s Capitol to share ideas, energy, and experiences with transition-age youth, youth-serving programs and youth advocates from throughout California. It’s also a great opportunity for youth to learn how to become advocates, speak to legislators and how to share their stories.
On Day 1, conference-goers will enjoy
workshops geared toward youth, staff of youth serving agencies, and those who are interested in expanding their advocacy knowledge and youth who want to learn how to share their story safely and effectively.
On Day 2, some conference goers will be split into advocacy groups (based on their home Districts) and prepare for a day of visits with their California State Legislators.
