Advocacy After Dark
The California Coalition for Youth (CCY) is a 35 year-old statewide grassroots nonprofit organization serving disconnected youth, runaway and homeless youth. Our mission is to provide improve and empower the lives of California’s youth. CCY does this as a statewide leader by advocating for public policies, programs and services that respect, empower and protect the rights of all youth. We take positions on, and mobilize our members to advocate for – or – against, legislation that is likely to have a significant, widespread effect on youth in California.
Advocacy is only part of the solution to which CCY is committed to. We also operate the California Youth Crisis Line (CYCL), a statewide emergency response system for youth, manned by professionally-trained staff and volunteers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CYCL fields more than 20,000 calls annually, providing crisis counseling and resource referrals to callers in their communities.
Every year California Coalition for Youth (CCY) hosts an after hours fundraiser called, Advocacy After Dark. The event provides an opportunity for members, supporters, concerned citizens and policymakers to mingle while raising money for a great cause.
