Self-isolating, social distancing, and working from home, has been essential in flattening the curve and stopping the spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Now that we’re in week 3 (week 4 or week 5 for some) or whatever number week we’re on when you’re reading this, now more than ever we need coping skills and strategies to help get us through this pandemic. Filing Taxes for Youth 101

Due to the current Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID19) pandemic, our Federal Government has had to make adjustments to compensate for both the health and economic impacts of COVID-19. A major economic adjustment isthe due date for filing 2019 taxes changed from April 2020 to July 15, 2020.

CCY is urging youth who are eligible to file their taxes and for service providers and youth allies to assist youth in filing. The following is a quick guide about taxes for youth and youth filers.

My name is Jason and I am a staff member at the California Youth Crisis Line. Twice a month I will be interviewing a different member of our crisis line team and share our discussion on our Crisis Line blog and newsletter.  Each conversation is unique and is conducted with a real member of our staff and/or volunteer team.
