Youth Empowerment Summit 2020 UPDATE

Published on March 19, 2020

The Following is a Message from California Coalition for Youth Executive Director, Jevon Wilkes:

Dear Friends,
As a result of the recent COVID-19 public health situation, the California Coalition for Youth’s (CCY) Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) Committee have decided not to hold YES as scheduled for March 29-31, 2020. This decision is based on the strong recommendations from the California Department of Public Health and the Governor’s office: California Department of Public Health recommendations.
The health and safety of our supporters, volunteers, staff and partners, many of whom provide essential physical and mental wellness care in our community, is a top priority.

We are working closely with Embassy Suites by Hilton Sacramento Riverfront Promenade to host the Youth Empowerment Summit at a later date when threats of COVID-19 have subsided. If you made hotel reservations using the link we provided, the hotel will cancel your reservation, otherwise please cancel your reservation as soon as possible.
Please review options for those of you who purchased tickets.
  1. Donate your purchased ticket cost to CCY: Support CCY’s efforts to respond to over 15,000 calls from youth in crises 24/7/365. We need your support – every dollar makes an impact on our work to improve and empower the lives of California’s disconnected, runaway, and homeless youth.
  2. Hold your spot to attend the rescheduled Youth Empowerment Summit.
  3. Request a refund minus Eventbrite charge fees within 30-45 days of a request.
You can respond by replying to this email. Should you need additional information, please contact Jevon Wilkes, Executive Director, via email at jevon@calyouth.org.
