Tax season is upon us. Under normal circumstances the filing date for this year’s taxes would have been in April 2020, but due to efforts to protect people from and stop the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Government and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has extended the tax filing deadline to Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
We have also seen that the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been devastating for a lot of people including youth taxpayers, which in-turn effects physical and mental health. Those who’ve either filed their taxes in 2018 or 2019 are eligible for the recent Bi-Partisan COVID-19 Stimulus Package that was signed into law on Friday, March 27, 2020.
