Youth Tax Filing Assistance

Published on March 30, 2020

Tax season is upon us. Under normal circumstances the filing date for this year’s taxes would have been in April 2020, but due to efforts to protect people from and stop the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Government and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has extended the tax filing deadline to Wednesday, July 15, 2020.

We have also seen that the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been devastating for a lot of people including youth taxpayers, which in-turn effects physical and mental health. Those who’ve either filed their taxes in 2018 or 2019 are eligible for the recent Bi-Partisan COVID-19 Stimulus Package that was signed into law on Friday, March 27, 2020.

There is still time to file for 2019, and CCY would like to help youth file for free! Youth can check out the following resources for FREE tax filing assistance:

Please file your taxes. If you are a youth that needs assistance, are in crisis, or needs access to resources and services during the COVID-19 Pandemic, please call or text (800) 843-5200 or chat with us at We’re here for you when you need us, 24/7.
